BJA FY 2024 Byrne State Crisis Intervention Program Formula Solicitation Request for Proposal

Hafa Adai! The Bureau received notification of a solicitation regarding the BJA 2024 Byrne State Crisis Intervention Program (SCIP) Formula Solicitation.

As authorized by the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act of 2022, the Byrne SCIP provides formula funds to implement state crisis intervention court proceedings and related programs or initiatives, including, but not limited to, extreme risk protection order programs that work to keep guns out of the hands of those who pose a threat to themselves or others, mental health courts, drug courts, and veterans treatment courts.

The total formula allocation for Guam is $370,436. As the designated State Administering Agency (SAA), the Bureau intends to submit an application for funding consideration under the BJA 2024 Byrne SCIP. The Bureau, along with the Guam Crisis Intervention Program (GCIP) Advisory Board, is soliciting proposals that support state crisis intervention court proceedings and related gun violence reduction programs or initiatives, with the understanding that final approval of their program plan and budget will be in consultation with the GCIP Advisory Board as required in the Byrne SCIP solicitation. BJA has the final authority to determine if the proposals meet the intended purpose of the Byrne SCIP funds.
