Pursuant to Guam Public Law 33-93, the Bureau of Statistics and Plans (BSP) and the Department of Agriculture (DoAg) are required to collect and publish quarterly data on the volume of imported agricultural and fish products, as well as locally produced agricultural and fish products purchased by the Government of Guam. The law aims to inform the public, including farmers, fishermen, importers, and wholesalers as to the quantity and types of produce and fish imported into Guam or procured by government agencies. Furthermore, the law highlights the vital role of farmers and fishermen in supplying agricultural and fisheries products that meet consumer demands. In addition to the imported data the BSP already collects and reports annually, it has now included information on government procurement of local produce and fish products.
